Post - The journey so far

Post began training together during the 2003 imPACT ensemble at Pact Youth Theatre, performing in; Crimesite (2003) which was a collaboration between Pact and Theatre Kantanka; and Song of Ghosts (2004). Their first public work as a group was in June 2004 when they curated, along with then member, Kenzie McKenzie, contemporary contemporary contemporary ZING, a short works night at Pact, and also the next ZING, Polenta and Friends. Since the beginning of 2004, post have developed a regular weekly practice of improvisational work and devising, performing at events such as Powerhouse Youth Theatre’s Shake the Space, and various ZINGs. The three have continued training together, taking part in; Groundwork, memories and Letters to the Editor, with Alice Cummings and Nikki Heywood, 2004; the 2UPACT ensemble program, 2005 and the UTP ensemble program, 2005. Post hosted UTP’s Short and Sharp in 2005 and their work ‘Idle Hands Wake up with Fleas’ was performed as a part of Accidents and Alchemies ’05 and at the Nextwave Containers Village as part of Festival Melbourne during the Commonwealth Games 2006. They performed again as part of Accidents and Alchemies at Performance Space in 2006 with the work “Under 12s Competitor No 286”. In 2006, post received funding from the Australia Council to undertake a creative development, resulting in the full length work Gifted and Talented. This work was remounted in June 2007 at PACT Youth Theatre, with further support from the Australia Council. Gifted and Talented was also a part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival in Oct 2007 where post won The Age 2007 Melbourne Fringe Festival Performance Award and The 2007 Adelaide Fringe Festival Award- Paradisical Performance. In 2007 post were also recipients of the Nextwave Kickstart grant to make their new work Swimming Home in Heels (a performance about lies) for the 2008 Nextwave Festival. The first stages of this work were seen at the Underbelly Festival in July 2007 and were further supported by Penrith Regional Gallery and Arts NSW. This work will also be seen as an installation in Sydney's Firstdraft Gallery in July 2008. Through 2008 post will perform two seasons of Gifted and Talented as a part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival and the Brisbane Festival. In the later half of 2008 post will create their second full length piece Shamessly Glitzy Work in residency at Performance Space supported by the Australia Council. Top...

Mish Grigor

Mish completed a Bachelor of Performance (Theory and Practice) with a major in Theatremaking from the University of Western Sydney in 2004. Mish has worked with Urban Theatre Projects extensively since 2002, performing in two seasons of Mechanix, Short and Sharp 4, and the UTP Ensemble. Mish has also been involved in independent theatre, as Assistant Director for the Fourth Floor Production of Picasso at The Lapin Agile. In 2005 Mish performed with the Transe Express show The Lazy King for the Sydney Festival, and also in TTS:Route 76 with pvi collective on the Sydney leg of their tour. She has done casual volunteer administration work with the Live Bait Festival in Bondi in 2004, Urban Theatre Projects, and Theatre Kantanka., as well as Stage Management for ATYP and Fourth Floor Productions. Mish is also involved with the Australian League of Immigration Volunteers. Nat Rose

In 2002 Natalie completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre, Theory and Practice at UWS, Nepean. She is currently employed at School Performance Tours in a dual position as a tour coordinator / director. Previously she was employed by SCECGS Redlands as a year 3 – 12 Drama tutor; and facilitated workshops for children at both SCECGS and Powerhouse Youth Theatre. During 2002 Natalie undertook in an exchange program through UWS and spent a semester studying in the U.K. Here she facilitated and devised an educational youth piece with teenagers in the Liverpool community, funded by the British government. Returning to Australia Natalie began her working relationship with Urban Theatre Projects commencing the development of Mechanix in 2002. Natalie has continued to work with UTP on productions including Short n Sharp 2 (2003), Short n Sharp 3 (2004), and Karaoke Dreams (2004). Zoe Coombs Marr

Zoe is a writer, performer and theatre-maker. She has participated in workshops at NIDA, UTP, ACTT and PACT youth theatre. She was a member of the imPACT ensemble ’03 and the UTP ensemble ’05. Outside of her work with post, her main interests lie in the creation of new comedic works, having co-written, produced and performed in the shows Malcolm and Keith, The musical! (2002) insert comedy (Melbourne International Comedy Festival ’05) and WONKA! A live cinema remix, (Sydney 2005, MICF 2006). Zoe also writes and performs her own stand up comedy and is the current National slam poetry champion. In 2006 she won the Ufilm fest film competition with her short movie Freestyler. Zoe is currently completing her Bachelor of Arts and Fine Arts at UNSW/COFA with a double major in Performance Studies and SPI (Sculpture, Installation and Performance Art.) Zoe grew up in Northern NSW and gave up her dancing career at the age of 7 due to lack of grace. Top...

 

Padaric Meredith-Keller

Padaric Meredith-Keller has been involved in technical theatre since 1992 during which he has progressed from working as a Stage Hand for Stage One School of Drama, a regional community theatre school, through to being a Production Manager, Lighting Designer, and Technician on various large scale professional productions taking him to the Sydney Opera House, The Esplande Theatre in Singapore, and Melbourne Arts Festival. Venues Padaric has worked for include Sydney Entertainment Centre, Sydney Exhibition Centre, Performance Space, Campbelltown Arts Centre, Newtown Theatre, Angel Place Recital Hall, Enmore Theatre, Hordern Pavilion and The Seymour Centre. Padaric is currently employed as a Theatre Technician for the University of New South Wales while he continues to work as a free-lance Lighting Designer, Sound Engineer and Production Manager.
